We also know that a Nancy Davidson was listed in that same will as a daughter. I do not know which Davidson man she married. The recent posts on this message thread now show that a Mary Davidson married a Joel Shelton. I can only assume that Mary was from the same Davidson family as Rachel and Nancy, IF Joel, and his apparent relative Josiah, were related to to Mark Shelton and his daughter Rachel and Nancy. Do you know for sure if Joel and Josiah were from the same Shelton/Chilton family as Mark Shelton? I went to a Shelton/Chilton DNA website a minute ago, and I think I saw a Joel Shelton out of MIddlesex Co., VA Sheltons. I am told by a researcher of that group that they are not related to the Pittsylvania line (at least they do not share a common ancestor going back hundreds of years, per DNA). From what family was the Joel Shelton who married Mary Davidson?
