I am looking for information on the parents of Elizabeth SHELTON who was born in 1759 according to her tombstone and died 1842 in Saline County, Missouri. She was married to Decker Owen. They were lived and appeared in records in Halifax County, Virginia. In 1780 Francis Shelton was a witness to land sold by Decker Owen and Elizabeth, his wife in Halifax Co. In 1783, Francis Shelton bought land in Halifax on the Reedy (Rudy) Creek bound by James, John Owen, Ambrose, and Henry Owen. In 1789, Francis Shelton and Elizabeth, his wife, sold 100 acres on the branches of Reedy Creek to John Woodall of Halifax Co. joining lands of John Hardwick, William Cassaday, Thomas Stovall, and Deaker Owen. Decker Owen appeared with Francis Shelton in 1794 on the will of William Cassady. Can anyone tell me who Francis Shelton was? What was the maiden name of his wife Elizabeth?
