Jiles isnt appearing in the 1900 census,perhpas a misspelling of his name or something. I find him in the AL death recs, but not the SSDI. Without his SS number,I doubt you can get his SS application, if he had one. Closest thing to finding him before he married is a grandson living with Virginia Shelton..and that makes it hard to know. Do you have/would you like a copy of his WWI Draft Reg Card, I have that. Otherwise here is the census and death info that you probably already have.
