    3. Yesterday I was in the archives at Monroe County, TN While going thru some of the old deeds and getting them in files I ran across this abstracted entry "Shelton, Locke, et al, Bound to Gideon Morgan, Junior - John Locke and Dr. A. Shelton, Exec's of William S. Lentz (?), dec'd. Wit John Locke (by atty. R.J. Meigs; Palatiah Shelton (By atty R.J. Meigs:) and R. J. Meigs" Attorney R.J. Meigs was son of Cherokee Indian Agent, Return Jonathan Meigs. Meigs practiced in the area during the 1820's and 1830's. There is no date on this abstract but the deed itself may be available. This deed links Palatiah and Dr. A. Shelton. Is this Dr. A. Shelton Dr. Azarizah Shelton? I recently posted a testimony to this list which was given by the daughter of Anna Shelton/Childers. This testimony stated that her grandfather was Dr. John Shelton who entered McMinn County with a brother who also was a doctor. Any thoughts or comments? Joyce Gaston Reece
