My Dad, Debbie Willie G. Shelton, 89, of Wythe County, Virginia, son of the late Neva Hurst and George Shelton, passed away September 25, 2008 In Hospice at Wythe County Community Hospital. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Madeline Reynolds Shelton and a sister, Nellie Mae Shelton. Survivors include his wife Glenia Ogle Spencer Shelton of the home Daughter Deborah Shelton Wood Granddaughter Kristen Elyse Wood Stepchildren Curtis Spencer, Zana Spencer Stone, Janice Spencer Sutherland, Lowetta Spencer Parnell Several grandchildren sisters Fannie S. Alexander, Emma Shelton , Mamie S. Daugherty nephew Conrad Alexander nieces Peggy Daugherty Smith and Iris Alexander Brown Willie, a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, was retired from Radford Army Ammunition Plant and was a member of Grover King VFW Post 1115 of Hillsville. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Edward Richardson officiating. A graveside service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. at Sanders Cemetery on Major Graham Road in Wythe County, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 p.m until service time at the funeral home. Donations can be made to Hospice of Southwest Virginia, 600 West Ridge Road, Wytheville, VA 24382 or Lead Mines Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 502, Austinville, VA 24382. Reese Funeral Home in Austinville, Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
