I want to know the connection of John, James, William, and Joel of Dickson County to each other. Joel's line has DNA tested and fall into the Chilton/Shelton line as does my line.............my Gideon Farmer Shelton is living next to Joel Shelton in the 1830 Perry County, Tn. census and my line has also DNA tested to be Chilton/Shelton. My Shelton line believed they were Shelton for over 200 years and we have just learned in the last several years that they are Chilton/Shelton.They started going by Shelton in the mid 1700's. The Virginia Genealogist has much information on these Chilton lines..........most of the Chiltons still don't recognize that we connect to them even though DNA says we do. This is all so weird !!
