Dolores, I'm not sure I've ever seen Joel SHELTON's census in 1860 Towns Co. GA If you recall, he was in 1850 Union Co. GA. Do you happen to have a copy of the census findings for Joel in 1860 ? Thanks, Debbie

Debbie, I guess I have never searched for Joel SHELTON before. I looked at the 1860 census. He is where you said, but the index for 1860 says he was born in NC, but when I looked at it, it says SC. You can look at the entry above Joel's and see where the census taker writes NC and it is totally different. I am sending these census pages (there are 2 of them) attached to this message. The census taker made a real mess of this entry. It is on 2 pages and some of the names are written twice. If you can't use these pages in jpeg format let me know. I did write it down. I just wanted you to see this odd entry. I hope this helps a little.
