Glenda, What is the DNA number that your line was given? My line is the maroon group, SH-80. My ggg -grandfather was Richard Shelton. Richard's wife was Frances Jones Barnett, the daughter of William Barnett and Frances Jones. The Barnetts settled in Leaksville, Rockingham Co.,NC, between 1803 and 1807 coming from Louisa County, Virginia. Richard Shelton was born Dec., 1779 in Louisa Co., VA. We do not know if he was raised there or the names of a set of parents but our research has led us to think the mother was Ann Winston the sister of Maj. Joseph Winston for whom Winston- Salem was named. Thank you.
