Shelton is the son of William C. Shelton. William C. Shelton, b.1797, died about 1884 without a will. However, there is a chancery case that lists all of his children which are: Francis(Fannie)Shelton Ferguson, Jemima R. Shelton, Abram J.(Joseph)Shelton, Elizabeth Shelton Hazelwood, Asaria M. Shelton, Anderson Shelton and William Shelton. Due to some dedicated digging by Mrs.Hawkins(a fellow genealogist), she found this case in the Patrick Co. courthouse. Is anyone related to Colin Shelton, son of John Shelton, who died in 1835 and/or Lycurgis Shelton, son of James R. Shelton, the latter, a son of John Shelton. My handwritten notes from about 30 years ago say that an Ann Shelton/Chilton married a William B. Mullikin of Prince Georges County, Maryland. I don't have any dates for them. This may not be the same person you are looking for, though, not only since the husband name is different, but also because their daughter Annie Eliza Chilton Mulliken was born on October 10, 1815, which would have been much later.
