>From The Sheltons by Clay Hensley and Zelouis Hensley (page 28) they state that John Southall Shelton and Sarah Boyce had the following children: John, James, Alexander Barrett, Sarah, Ellen, and Southall. This last son, Southall, is said to have married Page Fitzhugh. It states that John and Sarah's son Alexander Barret (who married Sarah Elmira Royster) named his son Southall also. There is a Sarah E. Shelton in the 1860 2-WD Richmond, Henrico, VA census, age 48, with a Southall B. Shelton, age 20 and Page M. Shelton, age 17 (Southall's spouse) living with her. Because of the middle initial being "E" for this Sarah (in the census record), and the age of Southall B. Shelton (age 20), it seems to me that it wasn't John Southall Shelton's son who married Page, but rather his brother's (Alexander Barrett Shelton) son, Southall who married Page Fitzhugh. Hoping someone has the answer. Thanks, Lenore

Not to mention the name Ralph Shelton.......seems we missed something..a connection somewhere...must be related to the Norfolk, England Ralph Shelton..... common sense tells me we will connect. Interesting to hear your comments. I am in the Chilton/Shelton line and we have recently been commenting that every area or state where our line is found the Ralph Shelton line seems to also be present !!! Makes things quite confusing !! BA Spraberry
