I am curious about "Wilson" as a first name in the Shelton family. I know that there is a Wilson Albert Shelton, b. ca. 1830 in KY, d. after 1880 probably in IL. He was a Grandfather to the Shelton brother's, part of whom made up the Shelton Gang. Also, my 3rd Great-Grandfather was George Wilson Shelton...not connected to the Shelton Gang...although he was in Southern Illinois also. Any thoughts? Happily, Harlene

Greetings! Those of you tracking Stephen SHELTON (b. 1809) who (1) married Nancy BROWN & (2) Abigail HARRIS, can now add the exact date of Stephen's death to your records. It is 22 Aug 1855. His funeral and burial were on the following day, 23 Aug 1855, both in Provo, Utah. When we get to the other side, we can thank Bishop Jonathan Oldham DUKE of the Provo First Ward, for recording this information in his journal. You can Google it for yourself by typing in "Jonathan Oldham Duke Autobiography". This little tidbit of being able to add "22" (we already knew Aug 1855) may not seem like a very big deal; but he's always been a favorite ancestor, and thus it was an exciting find for me. Regards! She was born Sept. 16, 1920, to the late Daniel and Emma Klein Cribbs in Danville, Pa. Theresa married Perry Shelton on Oct. 22, 1960, in Cannonsville. She was employed as a harness assembler at E.C.D. of Bendix, Sidney, for more than 40 years. Theresa was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sidney, and the Rosary Society at Sacred Heart Church. She was also a member of Local Union No. 1529, Sidney, and was a longtime member of the board of directors of the Sidney Federal Credit Union as a secretary and treasurer. Theresa is survived by her husband, Perry Shelton of Trout Creek; two stepdaughters, Barbara Finnerty of Deposit and Phyliss and her husband, Joseph Reynolds, of Trout Creek; two brothers and sister-in-law, John "Jack" Cribbs of Sidney and Thomas and Margo Cribbs of Riverside, Calif.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Helen and Lawrence Halbert of Sidney and Jean Eldridge of Johnson City; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two aunts; two uncles; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Family records indicate that he married Elda Crum, they had 4 children, Ward Munson, Glendora Bell, Janett Flo, Elizabeth Jo. Allen Sherman and Mary had 5 children, Clyde Emmett b1891 being the eldest - my grandfather, Ina b1893, George Ray b1895, Nellie b1897, Munson b1903. 1900 census has them in Center Township, Greene County, Indiana. My grandfather Clyde moved on to Iowa prior to 1916. Allen Sherman Shelton b1817 was the youngest of Sanford Allen Shelton b1817 and Priscilla Carmichael b1822. They had a total of 11 children, Charles A. b1840, Louisa Catherine b1842, Levi Elizo b1842, James Monroe b1846, Solomon Ensley b1849, John Martin b1851, Mary Jane b1854, Sarah Ann b1856, Lydia Margit b1862, Manda Mariah b1865, Allen Sherman b1849. Hope this is of some help, have little more info. on other family members, but this is about it directly related to Munson. Would like to find further information on Mary Elizabeth Keck.

According to census Thomas was born in AL, father in TN, mother in GA. He married Martha Ann Gillean, youngest daughter of John Gillean and Sarah Ann Dyer. Seven children are listed on the census. One is Zeneva A. or Zernan A. born 26 Jun 1883 in Polk Co., AR. Does anyone know the correct spelling of this name?
