A year or so ago, a researcher living in Bertie Co. took a series of five pictures for me of tombstones "Located in a Weyerhaeuser cut-over in front of what was old Cashoke School on NC 45." First, I'd like to get a more precise location of those graves. When I visit the area, I want to visit them and since the school no longer exists, I could use some current address/landmark information. A GPS reading would be ideal if some lives close by and can get a reading for me. Second, I'm having a hard time figuring out who's who from the photos. Here's what I've got (in chronological birth date order). James Monroe BRITT 1819 - 1901 Margaret Anne Britt (2 photos) 1828 - 1897 James Thomas MORRIS 13 June 1846 - 21 April 1922 Mother Margaret Anne Britt Wife of James T. Morris 30 May 1855 - 5 December 1928 Now according to my records (which are pretty rough): Thomas MORRIS m. Susan MARSHE ---- James Thomas MORRIS (19 Jun 1848 - 21 Apr 1922) James Monroe BRITT (1819 - 1901) m. Margaret SHAW ---- Margaret Ann BRITT (30 May 1855 - 5 Dec 1928) If the stones are correct, James Monroe was nine years old when Margaret Ann was born - not likely. So who was Margaret Ann BRITT born 1828 and how does she fit into the picture? Also, does anyone know where Susan MARSHE and Margaret SHAW were buried? How many graves are there at that site?
