My great great grandfather was Thomas Shaw. He married an "Anna" (possibly a nickname for Rena or Rhoena) They lived in AL, then moved to GA. While they were in AL they had 5 children: James, Celia, Lillie, Emmitt and Thomas. When they moved to GA they had 1 more child: Clovy (census was hard to read). Thomas and Anna were listed in the 1900 census for Clay County, GA. James was listed in the 1920 census for Clay County, GA as married to Lucy. Lucy had a stillborn in 1919 in Clay County. The death certificate showed a maiden name of Woodard. No marriage record has been found of James Shaw married to a Lucy Woodard. Found a Eugene Shaw married to a Lucy, children: Dudley and James in the 1930 census for Clay County, GA. I contacted the Clay County library. I was told that there was a Gene Shaw listed in the marriage book married to Lucy Woodard June 16, 1918. Need to know if James and Eugene are the same person. Celia was listed in the Clay County Georgia marriage book as married to Angus Stanley - Jan 31, 1903. They were not listed in the 1910 census. I found an Angus and Cely Stanley in the 1920 census living with a Lovett Cornelous. Need to know if this Celia/Cely Stanley is the daughter of Thomas and Anna. Lillie was listed in the Clay County Georgia marriage book as married to Lovett Cornelous Jan 31, 1919. A Lillie Cornelous died Oct 8, 1919 in Clay County. According to the death certificate her parents were: Thomas Shaw and Rena Stafford. Now I found a Thomas Shaw and Rena Stafford listed at Rootsweb Clay County marriages. They were married Dec 9, 1875. There is no Rena Shaw married to a Thomas Shaw in the census. There is not even a Rena Stafford in the census prior to marrying Thomas Shaw. I also found an Anna Stafford in the 1870 census for Muscogee Co, GA Is anyone related or help solve this mystery family.
