My great great grandfather was Thomas Shaw. He married an "Anna". They had 6 children: James, Celia, Lillie, Emmitt, Thomas and Clovy (census was hard to read). They lived in AL between about 1877-1894/1900, then moved to Clay County, GA. Their daughter Lillie was listed in the Clay County Georgia marriage book as married to a Lovett Cornelous - Jan 5, 1919. A Lillie cornelous died Oct 8, 1919 in Clay County. According to her death certificate her parents were listed as Thomas Shaw and Rena Stafford. I found a Thomas Shaw and Rena Stafford at Rootsweb Clay County marriages 1840-1892. married Dec 9, 1875. No Rena Shaw had been found as married to Thomas Shaw. No Rena Stafford has been found prior to marrying Thomas Shaw. I did find an Anna Stafford in the 1870 census for Muscogee Co, GA. I'm trying to find out if Rena and Anna are the same person. I also found a Rhoena Shaw living with a Thomas Shaw in the 1880 census for Henry County, AL.
