I'm a new chum to this list, but I'd like to hear from anyone with Shaw descendants from Hitchin in Herts. My earliest connections so far are with John Shaw & Maria in Herts., and their 6 children, viz. Harriet born 1837, Amos born 1839, Ellen 1842, Arthur 1845, James 1847, and Sarah 1849. John Shaw was a Carpenter in Hitchin, and more recently I discovered his death in 1886, aged 82 years. One child of Ellen's, George Edwin, finally settled here in Tasmania, but I'd like to discover what became of the others. Does anyone on this list think these names sound familiar, or has followed these generations; If so I'd love to hear from them.
