The June focus is on our "lost" ancestors whose given names started with K & L. Try to identify area (ie: Country, State, County) and time frame (born, died, wed, etc.) If you missed: A & B in January, C & D in February, E & F in March, G & H in April, I & J in May, those inquiries are welcome, too! And even share your "oldest" ancester. Susie Shaw Gardner [email protected]
I don't remember if I have asked before but I am looking (for decades now) for the parents of: George W. Shaw, b. 1827/1828 in PA m. Sarah Francis Capp in 1850 in MO d. 1908 in Kenton, Ohio I think I know all about his descendency, but have never found his parents who apparently came from Ireland Cheers, Necia A. Hello all, I missed "H" in April. I am seeking information or relations to Harry SHAW b. abt. 1872 Austria. He married Deborah JACOBS (previously thought to be EVANS from U.S records) in Mile End Old Town, Middlesex (London) England on 22 Oct 1893. At the time of the marriage Harry's surname is given as SHOR and his father is given as Morris SHOR (deceased). I do not know how or when SHOR became SHAW, but the 1901 England census has them listed as SHAW. There may be other children for this union, but I know of the following for Harry and Deborah: Issac b. Whitechapel, Middlesex (London) England on 18 Jan 1895, Miriam b. Fulham, Hammersmith, Middlesex, (London) England on 18 Dec 1900 and Sydney (Sidney) Anthony b. Fulham, Hammersmith, Middlesex, (London) England on 25 Apr 1904 (previously thought to have been b. Bethnal Green England on 12 Apr 1905 based on U.S. records). Son, Sydney Anthony SHAW was in the U.S. by at least 1934-35. He died young in Los Angeles Co., CA (as a British citizen) on 31 Oct 1951, leaving behind a wife and two young children (male). It's a long confusing story, but if anyone can relate to this family in any way, I'd love to hear from you. I missed May also. Here is my "I" SHAW. Isaac SHAW b. Whitechapel, Middlesex (London) England on 18 Jan 1895. Parents Harry SHAW b. abt. 1872 Austria and Deborah JACOBS (previously thought to be EVANS from U.S records). Father Harry SHAW, previous surname was SHOR (from marriage record). I do not know how or when SHOR became SHAW, but Issac's birth record is SHAW (including father's surname at that time) and the 1901 England census has the family listed as SHAW. Known siblings for Isaac are: Miriam b. Fulham, Hammersmith, Middlesex, (London) England on 18 Dec 1900 and Sydney (Sidney) Anthony b. Fulham, Hammersmith, Middlesex, (London) England on 25 Apr 1904 (previously thought to have been b. Bethnal Green England on 12 Apr 1905 based on U.S. records). Sibling Sydney ended up in the U.S., so there is a possibility Isaac may also have come to the U.S.? Other than this, I don't have anything further regarding Isaac....no spouse or children. If anyone is possibly connected, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
