Just so we don't upset any of our ancestors from Scotland, SCOTCH is a drink, SCOTTISH is a nationality. My Shaws were from Derbyshire, around Borrowash/Ockbrook through most of the 19th century. Anyone else got Shaws from round that area? Hello Dave and Mary. My Shaw family came from Derby,Eng. John Shaw and wife Hannah Wheatcroft Shaw. Had two sons. John & Samuel. Born ca 1815 & 1816. Came to Rhode Island. Moved to Bureau County, Il. in 1837. Who is your main Shaw man? Thank you. Viola.
