Thanks for your response, Emma Jean. Unfortunately, what you saw in my posting is all I have on the Sarah J. Shaw, daughter of Oscar Shaw and Mary Ann Carpenter. Sarah J.'s name and birth date and location came from the 1860 Census of Wallkill, Orange County, NY. I did look a bit further in Robert Brennan's "Wallkill, Orange County, NY, Vital Statistics, 1881-1913", but did NOT find a marriage record for Sarah J. Shaw. Given her birth date of about 1853, this source might be too late for her. Sorry I couldn't find her. ;<(( However, you might have some success in posting a query to the RootsWeb Orange County Mailing List at [email protected] Oscar Shaw and his family were living in Orange County in 1860. Good luck. I'll keep an eye out for Sarah J, however.
