Bonnie, 1910 Danvers, Essex, MA shows at 8 Braman St, renting John P Baker age 37, machinist in shoe factory, b MA, parents b MA, second marriage, m 7 yrs Nettie A Baker age 33, b MA, parents b MA, first marriage, mother of 1, 1 living Pearl S Baker age 5, b MA, parents b MA Augusta Shaw age 64, wd mother in law to HOH, b MA, parents b MA, mother of 3, 1 living 1900 Danvers, Essex, MA on Forest St John PH Baker, age 27 [b Jun 1872], shoe maker, single, b MA, parents b MA; boarder in HH of Augustus Verry [or Vorry] in same HH Hannah Baker, age 68, wd mother of 4, 1 living, [lots of grief back then!] b Dec 1831 MA; likely John's mother Hoping for clues to John's first marriage, but it must have been very short if single 1900 and m 7 yrs to Nettie in 1910. 1920 John, Nettie and Pearl appear at 11 Wadsworth, Danvers, owning home. John is edge setter at shoe factory. This time John shows ME as father's POB 1930 John is alone, wd, renting at 141 Holten St, Danvers [owned by Thomas J Kelly]; occupation written over, but does say shoe something. Again lists father's POB as ME. No house number is given for the 1900 Forest St listing, but Mapquest shows all the other years' addresses in same neighborhood and Forest St begins just 1/2 mile away. 1880 Marblehead, Essex, MA William W Baker, 56, b ME, father b MA, mother b ME; turn-shoemaker [nearly everyone on this census page is employed in some type of shoe-making]. Says unemployed 8 mos that yr and in disability column lists "dumb ague" Hannah A Baker, 48, b MA, parents b MA, dressmaking, "heart complaint" Percy H Baker, 7 [note the John PH in 1900-with the other similarities this has to be Nettie's husband] 1870 Marblehead see Wm W and Hannah A with a William J Baker age 16 and Amy M 9 mos. 1860 Marblehead William W, shoemaker, and Hannah A Baker in HH of Thomas J Peach, fisherman--no other Bakers shown, so possibly the 16 year old William from 1870 is not their child, since he should be shown here 6 years old and is not--cannot tell for sure about him, could be a nephew. But Amy M must be one of John PH Baker's sibs that didn't live. Marriage record likely 16 Apr 1902 to 15 April 1903, Danvers, Essex, MA for Nettie A Shaw and John PH Baker.
