My father died of pulmonary embolism caused by clots in leg (DVT). In 2001 I had same problem and survived. My hematologist established that I had a blood disorder Protein C deficiency. At the time before this was established I was medicated with warfarin to prevent thrombosis. But warfarin lowers Protein C so I had more clots. I am now on daily injection of Clexane a form of Heparin. Have them check for that. It is not a common condition. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
