Shaw born March 24, 1801 in South Carolina is my gr-gr-gr grandfather and HE IS the one who married Jinnat "Jane", also called "Jennie" McCorkle born Feb. 18. 1802 in South Carolina and daughter of Stephen McCorkle and Mary Patterson. William is the son of William Shaw who fought in the Rev. War and was of Irish descent. I know this from Shaw family Bible records. I know that my gr-gr-gr grandparents lived 20 miles outside of Charleston, SC and had several children there before they migrated to Parke County, Indiana around 1830 or so.
