Looking for James Shaw, who lived mostly in Bedford and Marshall counties, TN. He was probably born around 1780 or 1790. I have little information about him, but according to a biography of his son Thomas Jefferson Shaw (b. TN, 1819), who settled in Texas, James Shaw was a native of Maryland whose father had been born in Scotland. James's wife was Mary Long, d/o Richard Long of Virginia, a Revolutionary War veteran. Children of James and Mary were Sarah (my 3-g grandmother), Richard, Theophilus, Areander, Benjamin, Granville, Thomas J., Nancy, James J., and John G. Again according to Thomas J.
