Author: ssmith13_1 Surnames: Shaw Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.shaw/3982.2.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I search for parents of my Archibald Shaw who married Catherine Bell and emigrates to Canada in 1819......Their children were baptised Colonsay..........Stories say Archie came to Canada to visit family once...I have never proven beyond a doubt that a Barbara Shaw born 1823 PEI is Archie's and so I have to continue my search for real parents of this couple..... Does anyone know what year Colonsay was originally settled? No records dating back to find birth of Archie - children born 1806 so he would have to born atleast by 1785 - best guesstimate.... I believe we must be related to Bells, McNeills, etc that came to PEI landed in Wood Islands and later some moved ot Little Sands....help:0 stuck bad on this end..
