My most recent SHAW ancestor is Delilah, who married Drury KING in Wake Co, NC, in 1810. She is believed to be a daughter of Joseph SHAW who was a veteran of the Revolutionary War and lived afterward in Johnson and Wake Counties in NC. I do not know the name of Joseph's wife, but she might have been Elizabeth Jernigan of Johnson Co. We do know that Joseph was the son of Hugh SHAW, as there are deeds of land from Hugh to his sons William and Joseph in Wake Co. Joseph enlisted in the army in Bucks Co, Pennsylvania, and Hugh is found in some records there. A Hugh SHAW married Margery HOUGH in November 1755, and I assume she was Joseph's mother, as he was born in 1758, according to his pension application. I do not know the date of Margery's death. I can find no clues to Hugh's parents or his place of birth. I have underlined the information I am seeking, and any help or additional information about these people will be greatly appreciated.
