Hello, I have some Shaw's who lived in Ayrshire for a few generations. 1. Moses Shaw b abt 1824 in England m. Agnes Steuart b abt 1830 in Kilburnie, Ayrshire 2. John b 1851 Ayrshire d 1904 possib. Lanarkshire m. Ann Hendry b. b 1854 Hamilton Lanarkshire d. 1924 Shotts, Scotland, she was the dau of Thomas and Ann Bowie 3. Isaac b. 1884 in Lanarkshire, came to the US abt 1908 was a bridge builder, living in Brooklyn, made several trips to Ontario, CA. died bet 1917 and 1920 in New York or poss. Baltimore Md area. m. Janet Jack b abt 1884-1890 in unknown, parents unknown. She possibly died in the Baltimore, MD area aft 1920. They married bet Jun 1910 and Jan 1913 in I believe Ca. 4. John Henry Shaw b 23 Aug 1913 in New York, possibly grew up in the Baltimore Md area, d. Jun 1987 Atlantic Co., NJ 2. William Shaw b. abt 1846 in Ayrshire. 2. Isaac b. abt 1848 Ayrshire 3. Margaret Steuart Shaw b. 1890 Lanarkshire d. 1956 in Uddingston 3. Annie b. 1873 in Lanarkshire d. 1947 Uddingston 3. Moses b. 1876 Lanarkshire Some of the info on this family comes from the 1851 census and the rest comes from one world tree and the kindness of another list member. I saw your post and was just wondering if perhaps there is a connection. Thank you for any help you can be. I have not worked on this family for awhile, but would love to know more about the families of the Shaw wives.
