    1. [SHAW] Mitchell Bible bought by Robert Shaw

    3. Hello, I am new to this list. I am trying to locate a copy of the James H Mitchell bible, which was bought by Robert Shaw, husband of Margaret Mitchell and daughter of James. They bought it at the estate sale when James died in 1851 for $1.25. Robert Shaw immigrated from England to Andrew County, Missouri and married Margaret in 1849 there. Robert died in 1895 and is buried in the Savannah City Cemetery. I assume a descendant of his has the bible. I am willing to share information on this family. Thanks! Kathie -- M. 3. Kathleen, Wish I could help, my family didn't come to this country until 1902 when my grandfather came or his brother who came a little before him. My family is the Shaw family from Hyton of Bootle parish, Cumberland, England. I am the first Robert Shaw in our family that I know of. Best of luck in your search, should I hear of anything I'll send it to you. Bob -----Original Message----- From: shaw-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:shaw-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of M.
