I believe he has the information on your family you are seeking. In a past e-mail to me, Chuch wrote: "I just submitted a Y-DNA 67 sample to Family Tree last week and expect the results to be posted by the end on the month. We have several of our related lines back 13 generations and our Shaw line definitely goes back to the 1750-60s in NC. I am originally from Mississippi with numerous relatives in MS, AL, AR, and TX. This Shaw family line goes back through AL, some GA and others SC, TN/ NC, and VA or MD. Our oral history also indicates migrating through VA or MD from Ulster (County Antrim) after arrival in PA. Our Shaw family were allied to and inter-married with the Wyley/ Wylly, Irwin/ Irvine, Miller, Bagwell, Jones, Spiva/ Spivey, Malone and other Orange families back to Old Augusta - now Botetourt and Bedford Counties of VA. I have at least a dozen family lines that were in Old Augusta County, VA by 1735 and later Old Orange County, NC which later split into Caswell/ Persons and Wake/ Durham Counties of NC. They all ended up in Old Washington County, NC (later became TN) following the Revolution. John Henry Shaw was born on the VA and NC line (Caswell County) in 1763. Papa John married Mary Margaret Irwin/ Irvine in Washington County, TN on 11 August 1788 in the area later identified as Cherokee lands in 1790. Consequently, Papa John and Mama Mary moved several times ending up in Shelby County, AL by 1818 where he died. Mama Mary came to MS with her family in 1834 and died in 1853. I am descended from their son, Captain James Washington Shaw, who was an original settler! in the Choctaw Cede of MS during 1833." I think you should contact Chuck at theshawclan@comcast.net because I think he has the information you are looking for. Good luck!
