I'm going to try posting this query again in the hopes it will ring a genealogical bell with someone. :) Artemus HATCH m. Hattie STEWART, daughter of R.J. STEWART (whoever that was) in 1882, Oneida, Madison, NY. Apparently by 1886 Artemus and Hattie were not getting along so well, because Artemus married (or not) one Lydia SHAW in Oneida, NY. Lydia would have been about 16 or 17 at the time. I believe she must have been living around (or with?) Artemus and Hattie, but I have been unable to find out anything on her in 10 years of looking. I have often supposed that she might have been the babysitter for a possible child of Artemus and Hattie. Artemus and Lydia left almost immediately for Kansas, and had their first child there in Sep 1886. Somebody out there must have information either on Lydia SHAW or Hattie STEWART (or Hattie's family), who I have also been unable to find any information on. Thanks, and Happy Holidays!! Anne
