    1. Re: [SHAW-L] SHAWS in Kentucky
    2. Hello, Tommy, Just a note tonight to let you know that I haven't forgotten you. I hope to write a longer e-mail in a day or so. Some days I can't get out of bed. I shall be delighted to furnish you with a copy of Evan Shaw's picture. I think I told you that the picture is very, very dim. In fact, it is a photocopy and was no doubt made on one of the earlier, inferior duplicating machines.. I am hoping that the picture will be clearer when it is copied. (My grandfather's picture was very dim, but recently when I made a copy on a modern copier, to my surprise, the photocopy came out clearer than the original.) Mrs. Howard Shaw of Olney, IL gave Evan's photocopy to me. She wrote a few names on the back of it which I will photocopy and send, also. There will be no charge to you. Please send me your address. I won't be able to get this done until after New Years day. I"ll write you later about what part of the Shaw book I would like to have. Have you seen the book, "They Took the High Road" by Gurtha Shaw Patch? It is mainly a fictional romance set in Scotland, but there is one chapter at the end with a dab of genealogy in it about Basil Shaw. I have had this book for decades. Will gladly copy the chapter about Basil and send to you if you wish. I hope you had a nice Christmas and that your new year will be bright. Sincerely, Mary
