He was the 13th child of John Shaw, b 7 dec 1796 at cotingham, York County, England, and Ann Rogers(on), born 6 Oct 1799 at sutton, York County, England. John and Ann were married 25 Nov 1818 in England. I think they migrated to St. andrews, Canada between 1827 and 1831. I am descended from their fifth child, William.
