    1. [SHAW-L] Irish Shaws
    2. Hello Fellow Shaws: I am searching for information on my father's family, and this is what I have so far: EDWARD SHAW, birth date unknown, served as a JP in Castlecaulfield, County Tyrone. Married CLEMENTINA WALSH in Calcutta, India in 1795. They had at least four sons, two of whom had a business in and lived in America. Their names are unknown to me. Their fourth son was GEORGE SHAW. CLEMENTINA died in Marimon in 1871. I do not have a date of death for EDWARD. GEORGE SHAW was born in Castlecaulfield, County Tyrone in 1817. He attended Trinity College and became an ordained Presbyterian minister in Belfast in 1848 and married MARY ANN MARRATT WEAVER of Chester, England that same year. His congregation was the Alfred Street Church in Belfast, where he served for over fifty years. They had a son, WLIFRED WEAVER SHAW, and probably other children whom I am not aware of. GEORGE died in 1899. WILFRED WEAVER SHAW was born in Belfast in 1859. He graduated Trinity College and became an ordained Presbyterian minister in 1883, and married ANNIE MONTGOMERY KIRK that same year. He eventually settled in Catonsville, Maryland. They had two sons, WILFRED SINCLAIR SHAW and GEORGE F. SHAW, both of whom were born in China while WILFRED and ANNIE were missionaries in Moukden. WILFRED SINCLAIR SHAW is my grandfather. I have been unable to find anyone before Edward Shaw, and a letter I have written by WILFRED WEAVER SHAW states that he and GEORGE BERNARD SHAW share a lineage in that their Great Great Great Grandfather's were the same man, RICHARD SHAW, the son of CAPT. WILLIAM SHAW who fought with King William in the Battle of the Boyne. If any of this strikes a bell, please contact me, I'd love to hear from you. Best Regards, Cathleen Malin Shaw Pompano Beach, FL
