I've pestered the list periodically abt my SHAWs in Maine, mostly w/o any replies. Looks as if we have some new interest. After the AmRev, my line went from Abingdon, MA to Kennebec County area of Maine (it was still Massachusetts at that time). They settled in the areas of Sidney, Fayette, and Hallowell--all near Augusta. John & Martha Studley SHAW had 4 ch, all of whom were also in Maine: Eliab b 1752 m Mrs. Sarah Savage in 1779 John b 1754 m Rachel Kennedy in 1787 Mary/Polly b 1757 m Savage Bolton Elizabeth b 1759 m Isaac Cowan Eliab & Sarah had 9 children: John, Isabella (m Joel Savage in 1803), Comfort (m Enoch Rowell in 1804), Eliab (m Abigail Longfellow in 1814), Dorcas (m Samuel Marshall in 1810), Sarah, Thankful (m John Scribner in 1815), Huldah (m Samuel G. Taylor in 1814) & Martha. John & Rachel had 7 children: Betsey, Loize, Nancy (m Joseph Turner in 1722), Patty, Lydia (m David Knowles in 1812, 5 ch b between 1813-1832), James (m Charity ? in 1813, 5 ch b between 1820-1832) & Rachel (m Caleb Chaplin Knowles in 1820, 9 ch b between 1821-1843). This is my line and I am always happy to share information. Mary & Savage had at least one child: Walter Studley Bolton Elizabeth & Isaac had several children, but I have to track down the information on them which I recd from a Cowan researcher. Haven't yet had time to enter the data. Some time ago I posted info on a number of John SHAW wills which were available from Kennebec County. I assume that info is available in the SHAW archives, but I'll cut & paste again: John Shaw of Sidney, ME: d 1807, h/o Rachel--this is my Shaw line John Shaw of New Sharon, ME, d abt Aug 1832, Lucy Shaw Exec (who resigned in favor of John Russ) John Shaw of Augusta, ME, d abt July 1887, Louisa Shaw widow John H. Shaw of Augusta, ME, d 18 Jan 1894; Mary Shaw, widow, one son listed: Fred Shaw of Amesbury, MA. Regards, Ellen
