    3. George Bernard SHAW was born in Dublin in 1856, and was descended from the Highland Scots SHAWs. His lineage is shown in the book, "A History Of Clan Shaw" by Major C.J. Shaw of Tordarroch (the 21st Chief of Clan Shaw) who said of George Bernard Shaw, "[he] was proud to be identified with the Clan". If you can trace your guy to that line, G.B.'s line is diagrammed in the book as "Shaws of Clonmel & Sandpits, Eire (Irish Shaws - Part I)" and is quite extensive. QUOTE OF THE DAY "The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at and repair." --Douglas Adams VOTE TO PROTECT YOUR GUN RIGHTS ON NOVEMBER 7 Mike Shaw ----- Original Message ----- From: <Seaeyemar@aol.com> To: <SHAW-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, October 22, 2000 8:52 AM Subject: [SHAW-L] Irish Shaws > Hello Fellow Shaws: > > I am searching for information on my father's family, and this is what I have > so far: > > EDWARD SHAW, birth date unknown, served as a JP in Castlecaulfield, County > Tyrone.
