Thank you Mike, Since subscribing to this list I have been summoning up what I know about my Irish SHAWs ready to post my interests. My Great Uncle who used to correspond with his Dublin connection always said that all the Dublin SHAWs were interrelated therefore we had a connection with GBSHAW, Eyre Massey SHAW etc. My line is as follows My great Grand father: Richard Norman SHAW RA born 1831 Edinburgh 2 x gt Grandfather: William SHAW bap 1780 St James Dublin. d 1833 Edinburgh 3 x gt Grandfather: William SHAW a coachbuilder at Dublin. m 1778 St James Dublin to Jane NORMAN. She remarried to Henry CAMPBELL a Clerk in Holy Orders in 1785 4 x gt Grandfather: Mr SHAW of Crow Park, Co Dublin. Jennifer Tombs (nee SHAW) from Surrey UK
I checked all four charts of Irish SHAWs in the book and could not locate your line. Some have no dates, but I couldn't match the names father to son, etc. Since the charts were "designed" to track certain individuals, I have no way of knowing if yours could be a branch not shown. It does appear from your info that they went "back to Scotland" since I know of no Edinburgh in Ireland. Do you have anything on why? Unfortunately, there is no index to the book. I have spent some 15 years attempting to relocate info I found and lost! I guess now that I'm retired, I should start one? Good luck with your search.
