    2. --WebTV-Mail-16130-940 Content-Type: Text/Plain; Charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7Bit Marci.. My SHAWs were in Morgan Co, GA from, at least, 1820 to 1850. After 1850, they were in Benton/Calhoun Co, AL. Around 1880, my line moved to N. E. Texas. (Upshur/Hunt Co's) The names were: James SHAW, b. ca. 1790/1800 in (?). He m. Roda FARRAR on 1 MAR, 1820 in Madison, Morgan Co., GA. They were living with her parents in the 1820 census. 1830 census, James and Roda were in DeKalb Co., GA, with ch: William, b. ca.1827 & James, b. ca. 1829, both in GA. 1840, can't find family in any census. 1850, I find Roda and children, no James, in Benton (later Calhoun Co.) AL. If James SHAW was b. in GA, I can find only two (2) marriages prior to his assumed 1800 birthdate: James SHAW/Sarah TILLERY, m. 14 FEB, 1792, Wilkes Co., GA and William SHAW/ Zilla BURKE, m. 10 JUN,1799, Richmond Co., GA. ("Colonial Georgia Marriage Records from 1760-1810", by Frances T. Ingmire, Pub. by Barnette's Family Tree Book Co, Houston, TX) Peripherally, Kay Bradley, a SHAW researcher in TX, shared this with me in 1997: William SHAW (who I suspect was James' father) was m. 4 OCT, 1821 in Clarke Co., GA, to Sarah HARPER, who had been m. 2x prior to this marriage. Sarah was b. ca. 1771 to George HARPER/Martha (?), in Clarke Co., GA. William's d.o.b. can logically be assumed to be 1770 +/-. The names William and James keep cropping up in nearly every generation of SHAW men. Hope this helps! Happy Easter from... HAPPY EASTER!!! I've sent this before, but never seen it hit the list...I think when I reply to Anne's posts, they go right to the listmom. Is anyone researching the Shaws that settled in Walker Co, GA? They came from Maryland, and settled up in northeast GA, some of them went on to Faulker Co, AR in the mid 1800s. Thanks! Everyone have a wonderful day!
