Hi, Deb! As far as I can tell, my Arkansas Shaws started with John Newton Shaw (Jack) and his wife, Rebecca Anne Jackson. They moved to Arkansas sometime between 1855 and 1859. They settled in Palarm, in Faulkner Co. Their first 5 children were born in Georgia, and the following 6, including my great grandfather, William Sherman Shaw, were born in Faulkner Co. Most of the children and their spouses are buried in New Liberty Cemetary, one in Oak Bowery The grandchildren of Jack and Rebecca spread out a little more, moving into Pulaski Co, White Co, and Conway Co. By the early 1900s some of them were into Pope Co, which is where my grandparents were married. My grandfather was Fred Dinsmore Shaw, he married Emma Boswell, and they had 8 kids, but moved to CA around 1928. Several of Fred's brothers remained in AR, Cyrus, Clifford, and Sherman. Cliffored was a college football referee, and on the board of directors at Coleman Dairy. My uncle Cyrus' wife Hazel still lives in Little Rock with her daughter. Shirley. I've been trying to find time to get up to Little Rock for some research, and to visit the family. I have a list of the Shaws in New Liberty Cem and Oak Bowery, and want to go up to the cemetaries to check things out.
