Marci, thanks for the compliment on my name. My mother's mother was Alice and my daddy's mama was Harriet Jane (Jenny). My daddy took the 'y' (Spanish = and) and joined them togother. pronounced Allison. I have Amos Shaw's bible record copied from his 1830 Bible. John Newton is not mentioned by name. They have him listed as Jack N. b. June 20, 1826, married Rebecca Ann Jackson Sept 30, 1846. Walker Co. Heritage Book says Jack M. I have a photocopy of that Bible Record in DAR Library. The original Bible is with my cousin Frank C. Shaw, a little bit down the road. The heritage book does not contain any info on John Newton's children or Jack M/N. (I feel certain Jack N. is yours, as I had another ancestor Maj. Jack Houk who was John Houk) I also have in my possession the William Shaw Bible, son of Amos and Sara M. Shaw. I descend from their daughter Parthena (my great grandmother). Amos and Sara are both buried on the other side of Pigeon Mtn. Walker Co. GA(4 mi. from here). I will try to see what I can find out at the Library soon. Email me personally if you wish. Alicyne
