I believe my Shaw's must have immigrated to America around this time also. The earliest I am sure of is Robert Shaw who was supposedly born in Sumner Co. TN around the mid 1740s give or take a few years. He died in 1831. His wife was 101 when she died. She was born in Guilford Co. NC. Her name was Elizabeth Hamilton. Her father Thomas Hamilton was a very early settler in Davidson and Sumner Co. TN. He built the first station in our area of White House, TN during the troubles of Indian raids. I'm hoping to one day find the origins of Robert Shaw and Thomas Hamilton. Good luck in your researches. Carla Marlin
