CHARLES2 SHAW was born Abt. 1791 in Maine, and died Abt. 1861. He married HARRIET OLMSTEAD February 08, 1818 in Civil, Gouldsboro, Hancock, Maine. She was born Abt. 1801 in Connecticut, and died 1875 in Maine? According to the census records, Charles was born about 1791/92. Possible parents of Charles Shaw, born c1791 in Maine, are Francis Shaw and Sarah Burt. Another possible parent of Charles Shaw is William Shaw born 1756 Boston, Suffolk, Massachusetts, and died 1803 in Massachusetts. William married twice, 1781 and 1789. There is a William Shaw on the 1790 Gouldsboro, Hancock, Maine census b. c1767 and died 1839, who married Dolly Moore, marriage int. 1795. Charles Shaw (b. 1791/92 was possibly born in Gouldsboro, Hancock, Maine or Washington County, ME; the census has born in Maine), his wife Harriet, and Sarah J. Shaw (possibly mother of Charles Shaw) born about 1767 and died 1853 at the age of 95/96?, are all buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Millbridge, Washington, Maine. Charles and Harriet's names are on one stone. Sarah J. Shaw's name is on a separate stone, but the stones are side by side in the same lot. CharlesÂ’ mother is probably Sarah J. Shaw, and his parents are possibly Francis Shaw (of Boston and Gouldsboro?) and Sarah Burt. A Richard Shaw is mentioned in Gouldsboro Families by Muriel Johnson of Corea, Maine, as visiting his brother Charles. Richard was thrown from his carriage. Did he survive the fall? The 1850 or 1860 census of Cherryfield, Washington, ME, lists a Richard Shaw with Charles and family.
