Just thought I might try the list again since there has been so much activity lately... I am looking for William Sandford (Sanford) Shaw of Wake County, NC.  Had at least one brother Peyton R. Shaw that I know of, probably more siblings.  Have lots of info on William and his family, will, etc.  He married Sarah (Sallie) Massey from Anderson County, SC (have lots of info on her side), but cannot find his mother/father and other sibling info.  He was born 30 May 1807 in Wake County, NC and died 6 April 1888 in Anderson County, SC.  This is my ggg-Grandfather.  William and Sarah had the following children between 7 April 1830 and 1854 - Silas Peyton (Peton), Louisa, Jane, Emily, William F., Melinda, Martha, Letitia, James L., Nancy L., Alex and Joseph.  Silas Peton was my gg-Grandfather.  These children dispersed from SC to Mississippi, Oklahoma and Texas.  Have info on who they married, their children, etc.   Like I said I have lots of information from William Sandford on down, but I have just hit a brick wall when it comes to going back any farther than William Sandford Shaw. Any help is greatly appreciated! CShaw
