Velma, My husband descends from your Joseph's youngest brother, John Job/e Shaw, both sons of William. John's wife lived next to Joseph in 1860 AL. We also think that Patrick is father of William, but have no proof. Do you any info to confirm, and also we can not find the ship that William came over on, do you by chance know that also? Annette & Wayne, Hi Cousins! Unfortunately, I have about as much proof as you do, just best opinions from other descendants. That's why I posted the info. I did find a man who said he had been to Ireland and talked to relatives, but when I e-mailed him he said he found out it wasn't his line and gave the info to someone else. When I contacted the other man he didn't reply. Lost information! Dead end, I guess. I will keep looking. If you want to share files, contact me at: velma.beale@axom.com.
