I read your message, and I am also working on the Shaw, Morris lines and one of my Shaws married a Britt - so I wonder if they are the same lines. My Shaw line is Thomas Shaw b. Scotland lived in Edgefield Dst. SC and died in Bedford Co. TN. His son, Christopher Columbus Shaw had a son, Robert Charles Coatsworth Pinckney Shaw who married a Sarah Ann Morris. In the 1850's they came to Texas and their daughter Georgia married a Britt. If this is the same line I would like to exchange info with you.
