Hi Jane, I have been following the SHAW surnames and finally recognized a name. I have many SHAWS that came from Ireland, stayed in Massachstts for awhile then went to southern Illnois. The name SETH is one in my line. His parents were William SHAW and Mary KANE. Both came from Ireland to Palmer-Brinfield, Hampden Cty, Mass. Their children were: Joshua b 1687 m Ann ? d 2 Mar 1776; David b1691 m Mary BLACKWOOD d 4 Jul1775; Seth b 1707 m Jane ERWIN d 29 Mar 1731; William and Mary with no further info. With the age difference I am wondering if there is any chance they could be related. My information came from family so I have no other confirmation on dates. I belong to several surname lists and as yet have not had any luck connecting but maybe some day.
