    3. I am looking for the ancestors of Charles Josuah Shaw who was married to Melissa Emeline Porter. His father is Nicolas Shaw and I am at a dead end at that point. Nicolas was born sometime around 1822 and died in Cedar Springs Michigan in 1894. I believe he was from New York. He was married to Matilda Briggs.     3. Elizabeth: Nicholas Shaw is my 4G-Uncle. He was born 28 Mar 1822, probably in Benton, Ontario County (would become Yates County the following year), New York.
