If anyone that knows the records of Roger Shaw ( by Harriette Farwell) I am trying to make a connection back to that line. I have a Nathaniel Shaw in Allegany County NY from 1820 to 1850 that was b in MA he is married to "Freelove" and has children Sally, Helen, Marian, ??. and two older children not listed on the 1850 census. I believe this Nathaniel may be the fifth child of Follansbee Shaw and Mary Edmonds but I cannot prove it. If anyone can help me on this Nathaniel Shaw I would appreciate it very much. Since I will be off the internet abt mid-May, I want to give you the info I gathered from a bokk, BERNARD SHAW, HIS LIFE, WORK AND FRIENDS by Sir John Irvine 1956 - published by William Morrow and Co., New York. GEORGE BERNARD SHAW was born July 26, 1856 in Dublin, IR., married Charlotte Francis Payne-Townsend in 1898. They had NO children. His sisters were LUCINDA FRANCES(Lucy) - born March 26, 1853 and died 1913; ELINOR AGNES(Yuppy) - born 1855. GBS died Nov. 2, 1950. His ashes were mixed with Charlotte's and spread in the garden of the house at Ayot St. Lawrence where they lived for 35 years. CHARLOTTE was born Jan. 20, 1857 in Derry,Rosscarbrry Co., Cork. She died in 1943. Her parents were HORACE, an Irish barrister; and Mary Susannah KIRBY, an English woman from Worchestershire. GBS's father was GEORGE CARR SHAW(8th of 15 children) , born Dec 30, 1814, died April 18, 1885, married 1852 to LUCINDA ELIZABETH GURLY who was born Oct. 6, 1830, died Feb. 2, 1913. GEORGE CARR SHAW'S father was BERNARD SHAW who married FRANCES CARR( 1783 - 1871) BERNARD had a brother, REV. ROBERT SHAW. Bernard and Frances' eldest son was WILLIAM. Frances Carr's father was Rev Edward CARR who had many children and was rector of Kilmacow, Co. Killkenny. The book also has a little more on the GURLY family. I hope this will help someone.
