My D Shaw is Daniel Shaw (all info is unsourced), born in PA in 1704. He was married to Catherine (buried in Union Co., SC), and had Samuel (1752-1805), Gilbert (15 Feb 1757, York Co., PA - 3 Feb 1842, Jasper Co., GA), William (15 Feb 1757, York Co., PA - 26 Feb 1843), Patrick, John, and David Shaw as sons. According to a cousin, Gilbert moved with his parents in 1765 to the mountains of South Carolina. Gilbert, and his brothers Daniel and William all served in the SC line during the Revolution. They were large red-headed Scots-Irish. Gilbert and William later settled in Green Co., GA. William returned to SC. Gilbert stayed. Gilbert settled in the Shady Dale area of Jasper Co., GA. All of the information above is from family with NO sources. I would love to know any sources on this family, so I can begin documenting and finding accurate info. I am from the Gilbert Shaw line.
