Hi Listers, My SHAW of the week for the letter D is: Captain David SHAW, b. June 20 1788, d. May 12, 1878, both in Chester, Rockingham County, New Hampshire. On June 5, 1817, he married Sally MARDEN in Chichester, Merrimack County, New Hampshire. Captain David SHAW was a descendent of the immigrant Roger SHAW. His father was also a "D": Cornet David SHAW, b/ April 2 or 10, 1757, Hampton, New Hampshire and d. Nov. 10 or 11, 1825. On December 28, 1780 he married Abigail Smith, also a Roger SHAW descendent. I would like to know more about the "Cornet" and the "Captain" titles that are found in the histories of the towns where they lived. I haven't found any reference to any particular wars in the histories that I have found. Hi Listers, My SHAW of the week for the letter D is: Donald Shaw and his partner Mary Noble has two children in Dores, Inverness, Scotland William born 1811 Alexander born 1814. It was recorded on the shipping manifest in 1848 that Alexander's parent s were deceased. I would "LOVE" some more information on these people. I only have one D in my line (to my knowledge). Darius Shaw, s/o Enoch Dolton, s/o Isaac was born 01 January 1857 in Canada, and died 10 October 1922 in Canada. He married Harriet Annie Sweet, daughter of Samuel Sweet and Caroline Cowell.
