Hi, Velma I am just getting started on our line of the Shaw family. My husband's grandfather abandoned the family when his son was just a baby so up until early this spring we had no idea of any ancestors at all. Everything I learn is completely new to our family so I have no immediate family to have access to any records. Just a whole bunch of new cousins!! This is the e-mail address of a man who visited Ireland and talked to some of the Shaws related to Patrick...gngshaw@fone.net..as it turned out there was no direct link to Patrick but he has some interesting experiences. I have a problem with birth dates for Hugh..if he were born in 1772, then his children's dates dont work..I have an alternate date of 1755 but no confirmation of that and in that case..Patrick and Nancy were not yet married. I also have Patrick and a possible brother, Samuel, dying on the same date in NC. My info is on Gencircles.com if you would like to look it over and tell me corrections or additions.

I also came across that info about Patrick and a brother Samuel who died on the same day in the same place. I contacted the woman who posted that, but she had no further info and didn't say where she got the info. I will look at those dates you mention and see what I think. I came across someone who claimed to have a lot of info on Patrick's family from a trip to Ireland. He then found out they were not his ancestors! I asked for help, but he said he had given the materials to another man who would share with me. I contacted this second man twice, but he did not reply. Oh, well. I guess some folks don't want to share. I will try to find your material online. You can't give me the exact link, can you?
