He may have been born here but it is not certain. Have not been able to trace the family beyond this point,but I'm quite certain the family originally came from England. I would like to hear from anyone that can provide any information as to Ephraim Shaw's parents or the place they originally came from. I have since heard from cousins in South Africa that they have a photograph in their possession of a well dressed man astride a horse and written on the back is 'Mr George Shaw' California. He emigrated to the USA from Glasgow on 7 May 1913 aged 26 on board SS Cameronia arriving in New York 25 May 1913. According to the ships manifest he was to stay with his brother John Shaw of 82 Marshal St Milwaukie. I am wondering if there could be a connection here?
