My Jesse Shaw was son of Joseph who also had a son, William. Jesse and siblings were born in Morrow County, Ohio, Jesse in 1823 and William in 1825. They were among a family of 11 born to Joseph and Hannah DeWitt 9 0f whom were sons. I have many Shaws of family settling in Delaware/Morrow counties (same place- different times). Could your Jesse have gone to Indiana from Ohio? Dale Redd, Interlochen, MI
Hi List, Sorry, I sent the first email to the list also. Senior moments are getting more often all the time!. Connie
Hi I sent an email to Don and Ruth Kern and am also letting the list know that I connect with her John Shaw born 1796, in Cottingham, York, Eng. Have more children than they mentioned plus lots more on down, if anyone else connects (besides my wonderful cousins found on the list and with whom I have corresponded in the past), let me know. Connie
Hi I have your John Shaw born 1796 in Cottingham married to Ann (I have Rogerson). I have more children than what you have and many on down, but I do not have the John D. Shaw born 1855 married to Carlie White in my file, but this is definitely my line. You may hear from others I have corresponded with who are also working on this line.. I only have Sarah & Ann as childrern of William born 1825. I have about 63 people with the surname Shaw in my file, plus oodles more connected with other surnames through marriage. I am from Montreal, Quebec and spent my summers in Cushing Quebec (as a child) which is near St. Andrews and have been there and through it many times, years ago. I am descended from John born 1819. Connie
I believe I will just mention that I, like so many of you, have John, William and Sarah Shaws I would like to know about. They are: John Shaw, born 7 Dec 1796 at Cotingham, York county, England. Married Ann Rogers (b 6 Oct 1799 at sutton) on Nov. 25, 1818 in England Their children included: John Shaw, born 19 July 1819 in England, died William shaw, born 23 Oct 1825, England, died 7 Nov 1903--my great grandfather Sarah Shaw , born 12 Feb 1831 in St. Andrews, Canada John D. Shaw, born in Canada 20 March 1855, died near Hazel, SD 11 March 1894. Married Carile White 1 May 1886. This John was my grandfather. If anyone finds a connection here, I surely would like to know about it. Ruth Kern

You did not mention years. I am aware of Hancock County, IN, but not Hancock, IN. My Great Grandfather, Jesse Shaw, lived in Hancock County in the mid 1800's. He had an uncle named William who may have lived there or in neighboring Shelby County. There are references to one or more William Shaw as in the Shaw biographies on these Shelby County pages. http://www.rootsweb.com/~inshelby/biography_index.htm Larry Shaw > Hi, > Does anyone on this list have a,Sarah E. Hello... I'm researching my ggg gf James SHAW, about whom, I have very little info. Can anyone help? Here's what I have: James SHAW, b. (1795?) (GA?) Married Roda (Rhoda) FARRAR/FARER/FARAR on 1 MAR, 1820, in Morgan Co, GA. By 1850 census of Benton (later Calhoun) Co, AL, she is alone with several children, including: Son #1: William SHAW, b. c. 1827, GA and his wife Matilda FARRAR (believe she is the niece of Roda; her lineage goes back through the FARRARs of Jamestown, VA, in 1610, plus the PERRIN, ROYALL, PIGGOT, WARREN and LIGON/LYGON families, as well) Son #2: James SHAW, b.c. 1829, GA. (There are other children, both girls and boys) I believe that James SHAW is somehow related to the BARNETT family and a Henry SHAW, all of Madison, Morgan Co., GA. The names James, William, Henry and Newton as men's given names continues for several generations. Is the Henry from Henry SHAW? Is it from Henry Co.? Is the Newton from Newton Co.? Can anyone please help me find James SHAW's parents/ancestry, et al? Many thanks.. A. Dale Shaw, Jr. rarecoins1@webtv.net

Happiest of holidays to all Shaw cousins Be safe Gaterial Messman
Hi all, I'm also looking for a John J. Shaw. On my GGGrandmother's (Lena (Shaw) Hernandez) mc she gave the names John and Mary Shaw as her parents. I have to take that with a grain of salt though because on her dc her parents were listed as Humphrey and Julia (Nagle) Shaw, both listed as being from Ireland. Lena's place of birth is listed Buffalo, NY abt. 1860. She had 5 children, among them were twin boys, John Joseph and Emanuel Sebastian. It is apparant with her other children that she named them after other members of the family, so I'm wondering if there is a John Joseph Shaw that was possibly Lena's brother. If this info rings a bell with anyone, let me know! Thanks, Pat ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO!
